Illinois State Senate Candidate Joshua T. Atkinson will be in Chicago for a petition objection hearing forced by Stephenson County Board Member Larry Jogerst, who signed an objection without ever obtaining or reviewing Atkinson’s petition packet. This coordinated effort appears designed to silence Republican voters, suppress their right to choose their own candidate, and protect State Senator Andrew Chesney from facing accountability at the ballot box in 2026.

Joshua is attending this hearing to defend every voter’s constitutional right to sign the petitions of whomever they choose—free from political pressure, party machines, or insider interference.

Joshua also looks forward to looking Mr. Jogerst in the eye, if he has the moral character to appear, and addressing the objections he personally signed. Real integrity requires showing up and standing behind your actions -—not running from them or hiding behind some high-dollar Chicago attorney.

The order in which candidates appear on the ballot can make a real difference — and this Tuesday, we’ll find out where Joshua T. Atkinson will appear for the upcoming Republican Primary Election on March 17th, 2025.

Every candidate who files their nomination papers within the first hour of the filing period earns the right to participate in what’s known as the Illinois Ballot Placement Lottery — a random drawing conducted by the Illinois State Board of Elections to determine ballot order.

While it may seem like a small detail, ballot placement can have a meaningful impact, especially in large, multi-county districts like Senate District 45, where name recognition and visibility matter. This weekend, Oregon hosts its beloved Autumn on Parade Festival, a tradition since 1970. What began with just seven booths on a rainy day has grown, fifty-four years later, into nearly 200 booths surrounding the courthouse square.

It’s the perfect time to enjoy the festival atmosphere, celebrate community, and support the Atkinson for Senate campaign.

Our team will be gathering signatures through the community before, during, and after the parade (which begins at 1:00 PM) to help get Joshua T. Atkinson on the ballot for Illinois State Senate District 45.
